Criminal Law - Case Studies

The lawyers at Miller & Harrison, LLC are committed to vigorously defending clients accused of crimes by local, state and federal authorities. Here are some examples of criminal cases:

  1. In one case, our client was charged with producing methamphetamine on her property. After investigation and research, we convinced the prosecuting attorney that while the methamphetamine lab was on property that the client rented, she was not involved in the manufacturing of the drug. The case was fully dismissed.
  2. As an inmate at the local jail, a client was charged with allegedly assaulting another inmate in an occurrence that was witnessed by two guards. We carefully prepared for trial, during which we argued that our client was merely defending himself from the other inmate. The jury found him not guilty, despite testimony from the jail guards.
  3. In another case, we obtained a deferred judgment and sentence for a client accused of breaking into a car dealership, leaving blood and fingerprints, and stealing a car (in which he was found driving down the road). The client had to perform community service work, get alcohol counseling and pay court costs, but eventually the deferred sentence was successfully completed, the charges were dismissed and the client had no permanent felony conviction.
